Beginning with my very first blog post, I began to essentially revamp my writing style. I began to realize that my old ways of sitting down and trying to knock out the entire writing process in one sitting was not going to cut it anymore. As I kept progressing to higher and higher levels of writing, my writing process slowly starting falling sub-standard. Each writing assignment revealed different weak points in my process. I made it a point to fix the weak points as I progressed through all of my writings.
For example, when I first began to brainstorm a research topic I came up with extremely technical and specific topics. I quickly realized that explaining some of these things to an audience who has virtually no experience on the subject would be extremely hard and persuading the audience to agree with my position would be impossible. However, when I sat down to write essay 1 I came up with something that everyone could relate to - that's when I came up with September 11th's impacts on the airline industry. I remember feeling extremely confident in that topic when it popped into my head.
Moving on from essay 1 proved to be easier that I thought. Once I had my topic it was really easy for me to research it because I have such an interest in the subject, letting me essentially breeze through essay 2 and essay 3.
Reflecting on all of the research and writing I have done, I feel like I've come a long way since that first blog post. Some old habits still remain, but overall I feel much more comfortable with various genres of writing as well as research.
It's pretty cool how the process we went through this semester truly changed the way we write now. I know I have figured out a lot of my weaknesses
