This week,
my research has slowed down a little bit. I’ve pretty much found all my sources
that I’ll need for my paper, so now I’m really just searching through my
sources and highlighting the portions that I’m going to use in my paper. This
part has been fairly easy, it just involves reading my sources and highlighting
things that I think are interesting or important. The hard part is trying to
incorporate all of my sources into my paper and make them flow together in my
paper. This part I have found to be a bit more tedious because some of the
facts are overlapping while some of them are so far apart that they almost
deserve a whole paragraph to themselves. Once I can come up with a way to
relate them together, however, it’s really easy to get the paper to flow and
seem whole.
Other
observations I’ve made about researching are that Google and other search
engines are way better to find good scholarly articles for my subject than any
of the Oklahoma State databases are. The Oklahoma State databases don’t include
many articles on Aviation, probably because it’s not a common topic to do
research on for most. So, instead of those databases, I resorted to Google and government
sites. Because of this, I have to verify that the information I am getting is
accurate and not something that some average Joe wrote and is claiming as
truth.
All in all,
research has gone really well. I’m really excited to see how this paper turns
out!
I feel the same way about the OSU databases. But since we have to have 3/4 of the sources from the OSU databases, I've been searching hard on those.
