Research
for this paper has been a bit tedious to say the least. It’s been tough to find
sources on websites other than a select few. Normally this wouldn’t be a huge
problem, but most of what I’m finding is articles that just update older
articles with new findings and the most updated information. I haven’t really
gotten into the search engines provided by Oklahoma State as of yet, so
hopefully those search engines have more to offer.
The good
news, however, is that I have narrowed my research question down enough to give
my actual research enough direction in order to be beneficial to the paper even
if my finalized research question strays a little bit from the main idea of the
article. I want to do research on the impact of the September 11, 2001 terrorist
attacks on the aviation community. Specifically, I’d like to focus on how it affected
airline pilots because that is my future career field. However, I’m finding
that this topic in particular may be a tad too narrow, so I may open it up to
how September 11th affected other aviation career fields such as Air
Traffic Controllers, baggage handlers, and flight attendants. I really haven’t decided
yet. I’ll have to wait and see how the remainder of my research goes. Other
good news is that I have not hit any real dead ends in my research. There have
been no major snags. Also, research isn’t a horrible burden on me because I
really enjoy my topic; that’s what’s most important to me!
Maybe you can do how it affected the entire aviation committee, talking about a different career field in each section? Like you can make the first section about pilots, the second about flight attendants, etc. This way you don't need a great amount of sources for just one particular field such as pilots.
